At Emmanuel Baptist Church, our heartbeat is to Exalt the Lord, Edify Believers, and Evangelize the Lost. One of the most tangible ways we live out this mission is through faithful service—both within our church family and in our local community.
We believe that every member has a God-given role in ministry. Whether you’re welcoming guests at the door, teaching a class, serving behind the scenes, or reaching out in Jesus’ name beyond our walls, your involvement helps us exalt Christ, build one another up in the faith, and share the gospel with those who need Him.
Our goal is for each member to be actively involved in at least one ministry at church and one ministry representing our church in the community. Serving together, we grow stronger as a body and shine brighter as a light in our community.
To help us serve safely and responsibly, especially when it comes to caring for children and youth, we ask all volunteers to complete a background check and review our child safety policies. Thank you for your willingness to serve the Lord with us!

Purpose of the Children’s Ministry
At Emmanuel Baptist Church, our children’s ministry exists to glorify God by providing a safe, loving, and Christ-centered environment where each child can learn who God is and what Jesus’ death and resurrection mean for them personally. Our goal is to support parents in their God-given role of raising their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4).
Policy Overview
To ensure the safety of every child and to protect those who serve, we follow these policies within our children’s ministry:
- Background Checks
Every children’s ministry worker must pass a criminal background check. Individuals with offenses against children or violent criminal offenses will not be permitted to serve. - Restroom Policy
Children under age 5 must be accompanied to the restroom by an approved adult. Male workers may not assist girls in the restroom under any circumstances. When assisting a child, no adult should ever be out of view of another adult. - Safe Supervision Standard
At least two adults should be present in each area where children are present. If the door has an unobstructed window and other adults are consistently present on the same floor, a single adult is sufficient per room. - Classroom Visibility
All classrooms used for children’s ministry must have clear, unobstructed windows to allow for easy visibility from outside the room. - Discipline Policy
Physical correction is not permitted. If a child demonstrates disobedience or disrespect, the issue should be reported to the parent and/or Pastor Felber for follow-up. - Open Door Policy
We take any concerns about teacher conduct seriously. If you ever have a question or suspicion about inappropriate behavior, contact Pastor Felber or a deacon immediately. Transparency and accountability are vital to maintaining a safe and God-honoring ministry.
